Women in Art Across Centuries

XeniArtSpace presents CHANNELLED: Women in Art Across Centuries, an international exhibition bringing together 17 women artists whose practices span the 20th and 21st centuries. The exhibition is centred around works from the personal collection of XeniArtSpace Founder, collector and Lead Curator Xenia Kulbachevskaya.

This part of the collection is presented as a unified curatorial statement in which historically significant artists enter into dialogue with internationally recognised and emerging contemporary voices. Through painting, photography, textile, sculpture and installation, the exhibition explores how personal experience, memory, intuition and the inner world are transformed into artistic form.

The title CHANNELLED refers to the idea of the artist as a conduit through which experience acquires visual and material expression. Bringing together different generations and cultural contexts, the exhibition presents not a single definition of female experience, but a plurality of independent artistic voices.

For audiences in Cyprus, CHANNELLED offers an opportunity to encounter works by internationally significant, museum-level artists within a single exhibition and to engage with important movements in 20th-century art alongside current tendencies in contemporary artistic practice. The project places Cyprus within a wider international cultural dialogue and reflects the mission of XeniArtSpace: to present significant art from different periods on the island and to create new connections between history and the present.
