Hannah Rowan — Tides in the Body

During Limassol Art Walks, The Edit Gallery presents Tides in the Body (2023), Hannah Rowan’s performance film created on location in Greenland. Moving through a shoreline of shifting ice, Rowan follows the rhythm of the tides while resisting their force. Elsewhere, intimate encounters between bare skin and melting ice give way to the artist lying upon a floating iceberg as it drifts towards the open ocean. Accompanied by field and underwater recordings of tidal movement and melting ice, the work explores vulnerability, transformation and the fluid relationship between human and natural bodies.
